Urban Campfire has once again brought the stories of Yarra to life at the Neighbourhood Justice Centre. This spring, we were proud to showcase a beautiful collection of community art that highlighted the diverse voices and experiences of our neighbourhood.
The exhibition was a true celebration of connection and creativity, bringing together neighbours, advocates, and artists under one roof. From vibrant paintings to thought-provoking works, each piece reflected the personal stories of our community, showing that justice is local, personal, and shaped by individual experiences.
We were fortunate to feature contributions from an incredible range of locals, including the City of Yarra Seniors art group, Collingwood Neighbourhood House, Sacred Heart Primary School, Collingwood College, Richmond Youth Hub, St Joseph's Primary School, Blak Pearl, Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Soft Meadow Collective, and the Arts Richmond Collective.
A special thank you to Dr Paula Mahoney, our curator, whose thoughtful work brought this exhibition together so beautifully. We are also deeply grateful to the Reichstein Foundation for their generous support, which made this year’s Urban Campfire possible.
Thank you to everyone who participated, visited, and supported this event. Your involvement helps make the NJC a place where stories can be shared and voices are heard. We welcome visitors to the Neighbourhood Justice Centre to explore the exhibition and take a stroll through the building to experience the incredible artworks on display.
